Being a Good Samaritan

If you decide that you can fulfill a need, you must be able to follow through on your commitment.  Also, please do not volunteer to help someone if you do not possess the requisite skills to do a proper job.  For example, if you have never done a break job, please don't sign up to experiment with someone in need. (We are not trying to question your integrity or abilities, we just need to be clear)

Categories of Need

  • Auto Repairs
    Small Jobs
These are small maintenance jobs, like brake jobs, alternators, routine maintenance, etc.  We do not expect you to overhaul an engine!
  • Home Repairs
    Small Item repairs
These would be things like fixing an unsafe step, or helping to install a safety item.  We do not expect you to build a Habitat for humanity or replace an entire roof!
  • Transportation
    Giving an occasional ride
This would be offering to take an elderly or infirmed person to the doctor, or church or store, etc.
  • Visitation
Taking time to lend an ear
Many elderly and shut ins have no one to talk to.  If you can spare an hour or two to visit and talk, you would be showing God's love in a very real way.
